making a mauser in 30-06??

Large ring 98 mausers in 30-06 from century...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sirs and Ma'ams,
I am thinking of building a mauser, useing the new 30-06 barrels that century has on a mauser action/stock (real simple, nothing fancy).
Which Mausers are 98-style and LArge ring which would be suitable for these barrels?
What if any modifications will need to be made to the action/receiver/stock/etc to complete this project? (or do i just have a smith screw in the barrel and be done?)
Any other thoughts or suggestions?
Anyone done this already?
Seems like a nice way to get a C&R 30-06 for a good price...
Thanks,
Carl

cpileri, the VZ-24 would make a nice large ring action for this. You should get a smith to install the barrel and headspace it for you. I have heard of but never seen a standard length 98 action require alterations for the 30-06 family. George
