Help with a springfield 67F

I have a 12 ga springfield 67F that has not been touched for at least 20 years. I took it apart for a good cleaning and getting it back together is turning into a problem.

Problem is after everything is back together the slide will not go back after dry firing without pushing in the release button.

Before disassembly I opened the slide to make sure it was clear and then proceeded with takedown. I didn't see anything fly out and except for the trigger pin which needed a little effort with a punch, everything came apart very nicely and went back together nicely.

What did I do wrong?
