I am building an PSA 308, with a 20" upper?

What would be a good scope? It's mainly going to be a bench gun.

I just put a Springfield Armory 6X40 scope I had off of a bolt gun on mine. If I did not have it then I would get a nice Leupold scope. I too just built a PSA 308 with a 20" upper but have not had a chance to shoot it yet. I used a Burris P.E.P.R scope mount and like the setup just fine, cant wait to break it in.

Hmm...How much do you want to spend? Since that can be an expensive endeavor, I would suggest a NightForce NXS. Cant go wrong there. Or a Vortex Razor HD, or even a Vortex Viper PST. All very good optics. S&B, US Optics...you get the picture.

Well I looked at a Vortex Strike eagle, 1-6, and I really liked it, but I want more magnification I think. I would really like to stay in the 300-500 range.

Ahh yes, I understand. The Vortex Viper really is a lot of scope for the money. It is not built as stout as the NightForce, but the optics and reticle are just as good I think, ( and I own both) I like the illumination controls on the Vortex much better. Also has a zero stop feature that is usefull if you are going to go long.

They are $750.00 and are a super good deal for what you get. If you coughed up another 250 I think you would be glad that you did over any 300-500 dollar scope you are going to find. I have a bunch of those too. Just my take on them, but I own a lot of scopes, from the top shelf to the bottom shelf (well maybe not Leupold VXII) is about as cheap as ...nope I do have a Banner. Anyway, you get the picture. That's an opinion based on owning and using them.

I have a Nikon M-308 on my PA10, the glass is good, and I think I acquired it on sale for maybe just a little more than 500. I don't like the reticle, and the turrets are too easy to turn. Good thing about them is that they are repeatable, and since they wont go too complete turns to max elevation, if they get moved inadvertently, (they will) then you can just dial all the way up, and then dial back to zero.

Just looked, Midway has them for $499. Might be the ticket for what you have in mind. One other thing, unless you are using a different barrel from the PSA one, you're not going to get the accuracy to use much more scope than that. As a matter of fact, if you use it for a bench gun you might be in for some heartache, and spend a lot of money. I have been thinking about building one, and for the money I could buy a new Savage 12 LRP AND a new NightForce. Would shoot all up inside most any AR (I have seen) from the bench.

I just bought a PSA PA-10 20" barrel it has a Magpul stock( adjustable length and cheek piece), forearm is also Magpul. I tried to put my 6X24 Bausch/Lomb on it and couldn't get enough height adjustment so put the crappy 3X 12 China made walleye marker back one it for now. I have been working up loads for it, seems to like 168 gr. Hornady HPBT the best so far. I'm a bolt person at heart but this is really fun to shoot. So far I've got it down to 7/8" groups with Varget and 168 gr.
The rifle is a bit heavy but I plan on using it on hogs so won't be carrying much or to far.
I'll probably end up with a 6x18 or 20 on it.
So far it won't compete with my bolt 308s but from what it has done so far it will shoot 1" MOA and I haven't messed with it much.

A Vortex Viper PST FFP in either 4-16 or 6-20 MOA or MIL version can't go wrong.

Well I got the barrel in, it fit right to the lower no problem. I will put some rounds through it after work, but it looks good so far.
