Ithica Model 37-> Quick question

Local gunshop has a nice Ithica Model 37 for $250. A search of various gun auction sites reveals this to be a good price (some nefarious folk are selling the Chinese copies for as much). I figure it will make a wonderful upgrade from my H&R single shot.

I am probably going to pounce on it, but I have one question first:

When in the forward position, I noticed that the forend has some slop to the left and right. Is this normal? Or is it a problem?

The Ithaca normally has a little side play to the slide. Sounds like a good buy. Ithaca are one of the best made pump shotguns out there.

I agree. The small amount of play in the fore-end is normal. They are very nice shotguns. I have owned two - 12ga & 20ga - since the middle '70s and have never had a problem with either one.

I pounced .

I'm going to take it trap shooting later.

I'm surprised how well it fits me.
