Hi,

I have read through the archives over the past year here, and there is some great information to be found.

Would anyone have any information at all on reloading Size 7 and smaller steel shot.
I would like to get a progressive reloader that will reload steel shot. Could anyonr reccomend a supplier for shot, wads and powder used for steel reloading? Also, a good reloading book for steel.

Thanks a lot,

Bowser.

Is steel shot that small even made?

I thought steel bottomed out at around No. 4 pheasant/duck shot.

Winchester would probably be your best bet for information on this subject, I would think.

These all have shotgun reloading components. #7 steel? If it is made, that'll hit about like #8.5 or 9 shot- not very great on clays, probably a bad wounder on doves unless you're close.....

Gents,

thanks for the info.

Where I shoot clays, we shoot over water, and by law have to shoot steel.
Federal 12 gauge #7 Steel shot is sold at the club, but retails for $8 to $9 a box. It works great on the clays, especially for skeet. You just have to open up the choke one with the steel.
FWIW, I have seen steel shot in size 8!

By reloading I hope to get the price per box down to under $4.

Thanks again,

Bowser.
