Bersa Thunder .32

My buddy has just recently talked to a guy who wants to sell him a Thunder .32, I dont really know much about this gun or even the calibre, it looks just like the thunder .380 and is blue and black. The guy says its like 10-15 years old but has been in his closet for a long time and only has like 50-100 rounds through it. I have not actually seen gun and am just going off what my friend has said (he doesnt know much about handguns) if any body could give me some feedback on it. I have a thunder .380 and really like it, would this older .32 be pretty similar or is there things to watch out for? Any help would be great!

Actually, they have made several models chambered in .32 ACP in the past. I don't know if they don't make offerings in that cartridge anymore, or if they are just not imported.

Thanks GB, kinda what I was looking for. I was hoping for more people who have actually experienced this pistol though. I have no idea of the model or really much of anything about the gun, my buddy is the only one who talked to the guy and he doesnt know much at all about guns. Good resource though.

According to my "Blue Book of Gun Values" the only model in .32 was the Model 323 which was discontinued in 1987. The value listed at 100% is $105, 98% is $95, 95% is $85, 90% is $75, 80% is $65, etc. That is all that I could find. Hope it helps.

The guy wants $100 for a bersa (says it was a thunder) .32 that he said he bought like 15-20 years ago and has only put like 100rds through it. Think I should tell him to pass it up due to the lack of information on the performance or history of the gun? My worries are if it breaks, will he be able to get parts later down the road?

Yep -- from what I understand, getting parts for any earlier Bersas (not just the .32 ACP models) is problematic. Current Thunder models are not a problem, Eagle Imports carries those parts. Pre-Eagle Imports is another matter entirely.

But, OTOH, $100 for any of the older Bersas, especially a .32 in like-new condition, might not be all that bad of an investment. From what I've come to understand, there are people out there looking for them as "safe queen" collectables, if you know what I mean. You just might be able to turn a profit.

Thats kinda what I figured, Im not really looking at getting as an investement, I would rather invest the $100 somewhere else. Thanks for all the help.

Purchased used, but like new, the hundred or so rounds I've put through it cycled and fired flawlessly and accurately. Would love to find a backup pistol and/or parts, however, before I set about to wear it out

It will be a lot of searching the 32 was never all that popular Even the mags are hard to find for the old 380's and was a lot more of them I don't think any of my members have a 32 on
http://bersatalk.com You could go their and ask members and contact our warranty smith by a PM He might be of some help But old Bersa parts and mags are scarce Only newer stuff is really around. Bersa is a very small company.

Are you sure your local gun shop cannot get these parts?

I have a 2010 made Bersa Thunder 32 bought at my local gun shop last year here in France (that means that this gun and spare parts are still available...).

I just purchased a Bersa Thunder .32 and pick it up this week. This is in 2012, however Bersa will NOT import anymore Thunder .32's in the U.S. so if you want a Thunder .32 better get one. When they are sold out that's it. They have 10 round mags.

A very nice gun that is accurate and very low recoil. The .32 acp used to be used by army and police in europe.
