I use the same data for small and large primers and find little to no difference in performance.

Agree with Shootest

Just follow the manual and don't worry about primer size.

Ditto the above 2 posts. I did the 10% reduction and worked back up. Right to where i was with large primers. Load like you always did

I use 5.0 gr of HP-38/W231 (same powder) for 200 gr LSWC and 230 gr LRN for accurate target loads with moderate recoil.

200 gr LSWC/5.0 gr W231/HP-38 is my favorite 45ACP lead load.

I have used both large and small primer pocket cases with the same bullets/powder charge and they have worked well.

Current Hodgdon load data
Quote:
200 gr LSWC HP-38/W231 OAL 1.225" Start 4.4 gr (771 fps) 11,000 CUP - Max 5.6 gr (914 fps) 16,900 CUP

230 gr LRN HP-38/W231 OAL 1.200" Start 4.3 gr (699 fps) 12,200 CUP - Max 5.3 gr (834 fps) 16,900 CUP

Just use that data thats out there for the LP brass. All test that have been published or posted online show a less than 25fps differrence between the two.
