45 acp small primers
i got a bunch of 45 acp brass today with small pistol primers..
I want to reload them and I have some cci small pistol primers No.350 hodgden h-38 powder . in the lyman just gives load data using large primers .not been able to find any data ..any help would be great

I use the same data for small and large primers and find little to no difference in performance.

Just follow the manual and don't worry about primer size.

Ditto the above 2 posts. I did the 10% reduction and worked back up. Right to where i was with large primers. Load like you always did

I use 5.0 gr of HP-38/W231 (same powder) for 200 gr LSWC and 230 gr LRN for accurate target loads with moderate recoil.
200 gr LSWC/5.0 gr W231/HP-38 is my favorite 45ACP lead load. I have used both large and small primer pocket cases with the same bullets/powder charge and they have worked well. Current Hodgdon load data Quote:

Just use that data thats out there for the LP brass. All test that have been published or posted online show a less than 25fps differrence between the two.

thanks for the advise. I don't know anyone that reloads their own ammo. so hearing from other loaders helps .besides that I want to keep my hands...thanks
