Colt Challenger LR
I received my dad's Colt Challenger 22 cal LR but I am having a hard time finding any information on the web concerning this type of pistol. The only thing that I can find is that it was made from 1950-55.
Can anyone give me more specific info and possibly a value so that I can have it insured? My dad used this gun since he was a teenager and is passing it down to my son. Thanks! |

As far as value, they sell from about $250-500 depending on condition. They took a back seat to the Colt Woodsman, which was the premiere Colt 22 semiauto for many years.

The Challenger was a fixed sight, plastic-gripped version of the 2nd series Woodsman, w/o the bolt hold open.
Basically, an econo-Woodsman Sport. Colt made about 77,000 with 4 1/2" & 6" barrels. . |
