Loaded up a box of 45 ACP last night, in preparation for the 45 pistols I have in the mail. I've gone far to long without a 45 ACP. 5.1gr W231 under a 230gr LRN. Hoping to do another box tonight.

Didn't read the whole thread, but since my new bench is not quite ready, & I'm moving everything, I took this time to do some sorting... when my wife's dad died, he was working on converting about 300 military 223 cases to 7.62 X 25... I was kinda overwhelmed at the time, & just put them all in baggies & stuffed them in an ammo can... seems like a good time to complete them, & get them loaded up... the process involves 3 steps ( maybe 4 ) 1st is cutting to length, then I see I have form dies for putting the shoulder in place, then the case mouth has to be turned... I think thats it... there are some that appear to be turned down some at the base, but I think they just turned when being cut in the lathe ??? we'll see...
I have about 10 that have been test loaded & fired, about 40 that have the shoulder, & 250 that have been trimmed to length... I think a couple that haven't been fired, appear to have 100 grain plinker .308 bullets, & there is a recipe card in the can, that used Unique... I think I'll shop for a few other powders to try out... I don't like using Unique in semi's, as it's pretty dirty... anyone else out there formed the cases, & or reload for 7.62 X 25 ???

I am trying to load 270 WSM, but they are driving me crazy. The rifle I am loading for has a tight chamber and it makes things aggravating as crap.

Spent the day yesterday loading up just shy of 200 rounds, about 90 of 308 and 95 of 243.
243 is time consuming since with IMR 4350 I pretty much have to weigh each charge. The 308 with the RL15 I just throw charges, and it works well. Don't know the next time I'll be able to go shooting, but I'm hoping to go coyote hunting here soon. |

I had a shooting day creep up on me and realizing I was out of cast plinking bullets loaded up 150 of these instead. 7.2grs of Unique underneath a 158gr Hornady XTP. They were not quite as hot as factory PMC... Another half a grain, and I bet they would be a nice match.

just loaded up a hundred 8x57 for next week's range session.
used a 180 gr cast gas checked bullet over 17.5 grs of 2400. this makes for a nice accurate low recoil load for 100yds in my 24/47 yugo. also spent yesterday evening casting 150 of the 8mm 180's, 50 405grainers for the 45/70, and 500 .357's DEWC

44 Spec for my daughter to run through her revolver. She runs 44 mags through her carbine and the specials make it a little easier on her to handle in the six shooter. Loaded up 100 with XTP's as that was all I had on hand.
