My first recommendation is to separate the seating and crimping operations and to crimp lightly, if at all. Factory/taper crimp when you do crimp (roll crimping is too case length dependent)
My second recommendation is to skip the measuring/trimming of the calibers you mentioned (if you are not roll crimping, it is not needed) I would also skip the pocket cleaning. Not necessary for handgun loading. It is much more efficient to deprime/size/prime handgun cases in one step. Unless you are loading match ammo, you will not notice the difference. even then, its debatable. The above recommendations work for me. Some will agree, some will disagree. Take it for what its worth. You are doing absolutely nothing wrong the way you are loading now. My recommendations will just reduce unnecessary steps in some instances (2nd and 3rd recommendations) while the first recommendation will make the seating and crimping process much easier for you. |

1. Clean Empty cases. (I use Lyman 1200, w/ walnut media)
2. Deprime 3. Resize and prime 4. Charge and bell mouth 5. Seat bullet 6. Crimp (taper crimp back to original size) 7. Visually inspect each round 8. Shoot 9. Repeat |
