I'm looking for TFL'ers opinion on the best vendor to pick up bulk bullets from. I'd prefer jacketed and will be loading primarily 9mm in bulk. My fav's right now are the Ranier 115 or 124 JHP (their "funnel point")but they get fairly expensive.

Any and all replies appreciated!

Bob

Winchester 115 gr. JHP $153.93 for 3660 bullets,is this cheap? I buy FMJ 124 gr. and
their $10 cheaper than the HPs, this is all
9mm ,the shipping on this would be afew bucks
more. the wholesaler I buy from doesn't have Rainer bullets so I can't compare prices, but
Nosler or Sierra are twice the price of winchester bullets,

If you're REALLY into reloading, you don't need a vendor. Go to your local tire dealer and ask if he will give you a few pounds of discarded wheel weights. Cast your own bullets!

I got a FFL and buy bulk from Williams Shooters supplies in Illinois, they seem to sell Winchester products way under others.
I would buy and sell to you only for shipping cost, I buy alot of .45 230 gr.
bullets and .357 125 gr, HPS too,I make my
own bullets too, but the weather sucks right now for that. e-mail and I'll make ya a deal.

KODB: Friggin good question. I prefer to train as I (hopefully can avoid to) do on the street. Thus I load jhps. Currently I buy from Wideners and Midway. Reminton seems to consistantly offer the best deal on volume purchases. Wideners just had a price increase (bummer cause I really like doing business with them). As of today you can get 2000 Rem 9mm 115gr jhp bullets from Miwday for $99.99, $106.00 from Wideners. Both these prices include shipping, which is where other dealers "cheaper" prices really kill you. Remember, 2000 rounds of 115gr 9mm bullets is almost 33 pounds. Speaking of which, it is fun to watch them FedEx folks hauling it up the drive, eh? Stay safe.

I've been using bulk Winchester and Remington jacketed bullets purchased from Midway www.midwayusa.com for years with complete satisfaction. For 9mm I prefer the Remington 115gr JHP. Others may be a bit cheaper, but Midway's excellent service more than makes up for any small price difference.
nwgunman is right on about shipping. Beware companies with prices that are real cheap. Odds are the shipping cost will kill any possable savings and end up acually costing you more.

Midway IS the cheapest since their prices do
include shipping.I guess the only way I'd save on shipping is if I could find others in my area and buy a couple 100,000. ya get discounts for that, but by god I'd hate to try and lift the package that came. my UPS
guy allready has a bad back from some deliveries. I used to order ALL from Midway
no complaints.
