Man does that bring back memories! These were still being issued into the late '70s.

I feel like I just stepped out of the "Way Back" machine.

They're STILL out there. I was in charge of a weapons breakout detail in the Persian Gulf in 1990. These were Air Force M16's that had been vapor packed in '73. Some of the crates had the "comic book" in them. There sure were a lot of previously uninterested troops reading up on care and maintainence.

BTW: Anybody remember "Preventive Maintenance Magazine" with the hot looking cartoon gal who kept you up to speed on PM? Same comic book concept but it covered all kinds of equiptment. We used to fight over those.
