CIL primers

I have some CIL primers, both 8-1/2 and 8-1/2M. I can't seem to find any info on them. Can anyone tell me where they might fit on the "hot cold" scale and the consistency I could expect?

Welcome to the asylum. That's all I can offer @ this point. Can you tell us what you know about them, RF Fan?

CIL primers

Apparently CIL also made the DuPont powders, now IMR I think, but I can't find if the primers ever survived under another name. From the box these primers are old old. The lot # inside the box starts out L73, so maybe 1973??

My search came up with mostly paint and old ammo, GP100man. CIL is apparently a big conglomerate, much like DuPont, that at one time sold and/or manufactured a wide range of consumer products.

Making me what? Old old old? I am sure there are others here that would be more "olds" than that !

Guess I'll just put a few loads together and see if they all go bang. If they're still good I'll chrony some loads to see how they compare to the manuals. Thanks for your comments so far!
