Book- Gunshot Wounds : Second Edition

Browsing amazon.com for books on gunshot wounding, and came across this one:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/084...lance&n=283155

The few reviews it had said it was excellent. At that price, it better be. I am looking to buy a very accurate book on gunshot wounding for my library, can anyone recommend this or another? I'm willing to pay upwards of what a normal book costs, but it better be good...
Thanks.

For a medical textbook, that's cheap.

I have that book, and it is a must for anyone interested in gunshot wounds. I also have an interest, I've done research on live gunshot victims in Johannesburg. My only criticisms are:

1) Black and white illustrations.
2) Some spelling mistakes repeated throughout the book eg. 'do' instead of 'due'.
3) Some of the X-rays not orientated properly.

These are minor gripes though. It is highly recommended.

I'll have to consider that book, seems like a good one. Another one I found is "Terminal Ballistics: A Text and Atlas of Gunshot Wounds"

http://www.bordersstores.com/search/...chType=Keyword

At $175, its alot of money, and hopefully I can find it at a bookstore near me and just read it for a while. Its the most recent gunshot wounding publication I've found ; published Oct 2005.

"Gunshot Wounds" is a good book. Key word is "forensic." It discusses many variables that affect wounding effects.

I must dig out my first edition - -

I bought it pretty soon after it was first published, I believe during the late 1970s. I'd like to compare the 1999 edition with the original. If I do, I'll need to see it in the library, because I have little current need for it.

Best,
Johnny
