shotgun laws???

I was wondering if you can legally put a pistol grip on any shotgun that has the l bbl. length of 18.5 inches without falling into the NFA category? Or would I have to acquire a tax stamp on one

As long as the overall length is at least 26 inches and the barrel is 18 inches, yes.
