38/357 hard cast loads

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

What loads have you guys found good for laser cast 158 gr rn. I have a lot of unique, but i could really try anything. I really just lookin for some target/fun loads. The 357 is a gp100 with 6 inch barrel. And the 38 is a
1960's colt. The gp can take a beating but i would like to take it easy on the colt.

For .357mag, I use 5.7gr. of Titegroup under 158gr. SWC (for my 4" GP100) and 158gr. RNFP (for my Marlin 1894 CB). Extremely accurate powder that does not suffer from 'position sensitivity' in the case. Try it, you'll like it.

For the 357 and Unique start with 6.0 and max at 7.0. Crimp tight and trim your cases to get the same crimp on all of them. For the 38 start with 4.5 and 5.0 max. These loads have worked for decades. CB.

I'll 2nd crowbeaners 6gr Unique load. Just tried 6.5grs under a hard cast,(local purchase),SWC. Light leading in both my 2 1/4" SP and 6" Security Six, but very accurate. I dropped down to an even 6grs but haven't had a chance to try them out.

Used to always use heavier doses of 2400, but as I get older I prefer to get my excitement from .45 Colt and acp.
