Gander Mountain...no more Mossbergs?
When the store first opened up earlier this year they had a few 500's on the rack and some barrels. Now they have one left, no more accessories whatsoever. Everything is Remington/Benelli/Browning.
Now I'm having trouble finding an 18" barrel in this town. |

I bought the "combo Mossberg 500 12g" (18.5" smooth and a 28" improved). I also later added the 24" fully rifled w/scope.
But you can always do the Internet for barrels: 18.5" cheaperthandirt.com ($69), midway.com ($72), cabelas.com ($74) Have fun, hope you are enjoying your Mossberg 500 - I know I am. -M3 |

We've got a Gander Mtn in Greensboro and a Bass Pro Shop in Charlotte. I go to both pretty regularly. I wouldn't be shopping for barrels at Gander Mtn. though. Their prices are 10-20 bucks higher or more than Bass Pro across the board on their shotgun barrels. I was looking for a 20" IC Rifle Sighted smoothbore slug barrel for my Rem 870 a few months ago. Gander Mtn wanted 149.99 for the same barrel I got at Bass Pro for 129.99. The rifled barrel prices are even more out of whack.
Ditto the internet suggestion. For Mossberg parts and accessories you may also want to check with Havlin Sales. www.havlinsales.com They stock a lot of hard to find parts for older mossbergs and current mossberg accessories. They had some pretty good deals going on barrels awhile back. I've bought an 835 barrel from them and got a great price and great service. |

I guess what I'm asking, did GM decide to quit carrying Mossberg? The counter guy said he has a few turkey barrels in the back but "that's all we have left".

I was in the Fun-chester store a couple of weeks ago, was kind of an uneventful experience. Plenty of pistols, though.

Check out Dick's Sporting Goods in the Spotsylvania Mall in Fred town they have a small but decent selection of Mossberg Shotguns. They have 18" Moss 500 Persuader with shoulder stock, and a 18" Moss 590 last time I was in there. I've been eyeing the persuader for some time but i want ghost rings or rifle sights on my shotgun at least. Also the prices are pretty good too, about $285 I think. Hope you find what your looking for.

Last time I was in the Greensboro Gander Mtn. (bout 3 weeks ago) their racks were full of 500's 590's 535's and 835's. Saw a few 935's too. If GM is getting rid of them, then Greensboro's off to a slow start.
