New Benelli Montefeltro-Cheaper Made?
Was thinking about the montefeltro 20 gauge by Benelli...
Almost bought one last year...I picked up a new one this year and held it....and am I crazy or does it appear cheaper made this year.?..as in less quality....It just seems a little plasticer or mass madeish.... Any way...anyone see a difference? More important...would this make a difference to anyone? Should I buy one that is a year older?? Son of Liberty! |

Montefelto 20 ga.
I was looking at the same gun today. I thought it was the sweetest handling shotgun in the rack and I looked at them all.
The action is just buttery. The finish is so smooth that I too was flicking it to see if it was plastic, although I knew it wasn't. My taste would favor a little more red in the stain. After shouldering that Montefeltro, the other B-gun felt bigger and bulkier. I think that the lean forend gives that impression. If I was in the market for a 20 ga., that would be my pick. |

Montefeltro 20's do look & feel a bit "shiney and dainty".
Especially, if you've been handling alot of "manly" M1 tactical 12's lately. That's natural. The Montefeltro is the gentleman/lady's end of the Benelli line of shotguns. But they seem to be practically "alive" in your hands when a bird flushes! They are pure pleasure to swing on an active afternoon in a dove-field, or carry all day chasing grouse in steep mountains. My wife's Monte 20 gets "borrowed" often for such outings. When I want to swat down big Canada geese with authority, I take out my 3.5" Super Black Eagle!
