XTP - HP vs FP

I see a lot of load data that makes no distinction between the hollow point and the flat point bullets.... just states "XTP". I was under the impression that given the very deep pocket on the hollow point XTP, resulting in a longer bullet than others of the same weight, one needed to reduce the charge to compensate for increased pressure due to the greater seating depth. So would it not follow that the FP/XTP, with it's rather puny pocket, would be loaded with charges more approximating those for JHPs?

Loading what case?
In my Hornady manual for 9mm the HP XTP has a COL of 1.060 and the FP for the same weight has a COL of 1.050 and the load data is the same for both.
For 45ACP the 230 GR HPXTP COL:1.230 and the FMJ-FP is 1.200 again with the same load levels.
As long as you’re loading to the correct COL equal weight bullets and equal powder loads are going to be within the correct pressure levels.
Just start on the low side and work up looking for pressure signs

I'm loading 38 SPCL and 357 Magnum. My Lee, 2nd edition makes no distinction between FP and HP, and gives one COL for XTP.

Can I assume the listed COL is for HP and adjust seating depth by the difference in bullet length when loading FP?

I guess I need a another manual. I load the two above, 44 SPCL, 45 Colt, 45 ACP, 9mm and soon 32 S&W. Any recommendations?

I reload the 158gr HP and FP XTP's in .357 Magnum with the same overall lengths and data. The weights, jackets, and bearing surfaces are the same. I shoot the flat point XTP's in my rifle and HP's in pistols. The HP and FP seems to shoot equally as well in my Marlin rifle and to the same point of impact.
Hornady 7th Edition lists oal in 357Mag with 125 and 158 gr FP and XTP's all at 1.590". It lists overall length in .38Spec at 1.450" with 125 and 158 XTP's.

1.590 and for the 158 GR again all are the same at 1.590. for 357.
The 38 also has the same col for both bullets at 1.450.
