CWP carrying in Starbucks with a smirk....lol

Not sure how it is in your neck of the woods, but where I live most of the employes and patrons of Starbucks lean a little to the left and if I had to bet despise guns. I can't help but get this goofy grin on my face every time I walk in one and I have my 45ACP in my pocket legally and knowing I would be willing to defend anyone in there if a thug were to try and harm them.

Does anyone else with a CWP or live in a state with OC get that little grin in Starbucks.....lol

Not to sound all grumpy, but...

While there will always be exceptions but my rule is I only defend myself, family and close friends.

That said there is one mean ass old lady at the nearest starbucks here... She's far more lethal then I.

Well, I lean to the left as well.

Probably best left or put in another section but my thoughts are

I think "smirk" is inappropriate comment if you are a responsible adult carrying a gun.

You might want to consider that many of those of us that tend to "lean to the left" do so because we think that the system should not be rigged by those with the money to buy politicos so they can setup the game so they get all the wealthier and we are slated to become their peasants.

When all is said and done, the ones you will need to defend yourself from are the ones on the right wing who either have all the money or want to impost their religious values on you (funny about how corporations have become “cistizines” but our Non activist Right Wing supreme court managed to pull that piece of BS out of thin air and the protection we are also actually is found in and guaranteed (freedom from religions) is being foisted on us more and more.

Most of those with money have disdain for those of us who work our asses off.

Something to consider, our guns were never taken away, the discourse has always ebbed and flowed but the wealth of the country is streaming to the top and is now consolidated in the hands of fewer and fewer no matter how hard we work.

I can think of another country that has occurred in. Its called Pakistan. Something to think about.

Maybe because they carry on that side?

That was said "tongue in cheek", but with you leaning a little to the left figures you wouldn't get it......you can step down from your righteous high horse

I don't even no where to begin with the rest of your rant, but I will add just a few things.

So the left doesn't try to rig the system? That's funny!

Gee have you looked at the taxes being taken out of your check? How do you think they pay for all the welfare entitlement programs they are behind? Only because they want the vote of the poor not because they really care if you got a pot to **** in or a window to throw it out of.

Our guns haven't been taken away yet because of the opposition from the right not because the left hasn't tried.

I wouldn't be caught dead in a Starbucks after they refused to sell coffee to be sent to our military overseas.

I'm a new guy around here so I wont step on toes but I strongly dislike your thought process Palmetto....that sort of thinking lends itself to opening the gates of LOOKING for an excuse to draw your firearm.

I am a fairly liberal dem (union guy)....and a rarity in these parts and I understand that. I also dread the thought of ever having to draw my pistol in a defense situation. I really do, despite firing pistols for over 6 years.

My personal take is that once you begin thinking you are the sheriff in town...bad things can happen. I agree with the folks who said they keep to themselves and the sole purpose is to protect themselves, their friends and family.

Your post has a very John McClain'ish tone to it and I strongly disagree with that thought process. Now that being said, if you HAPPENED to be a patron in a coffee shop and █████ went down in front of you that put you in immediate danger or you saw a situation escalate where you truly thought it would save a life....then pull that 45 out and lay down some law.

Most times, a simple robbery doesnt aim for violence....they want cash and to get out quick. Insurance covers most situations like that. Remember, the "hero" factor might get you killed some day (if you fumbled & dropped your pistol etc)

Officer's Match, that rumor was debunked long ago. It is false. Please verify this stuff before spreading. http://www.snopes.com/politics/military/starbucks.asp

Palmetto-Pride, Starbuck's as a corporation has resisted a lot of pressure in places like Seattle, sticking with a policy of "go by state and local law." They have not incorporated bans. Perhaps you should dog IKEA and other chains that impose their own bans.

RC20, Hitler was right wing. Stalin was left. Neither side has exclusive claims on vice nor virtue.

I used to think like you but not any more. If you do have to pull and shoot your gun you are either going to get arrested or sued by the person you wounded or the family of the person you killed. Now if I can get my family and myself out without drawing my gun the bad guy can kill anybody he wants. As Clint Eastwood said in Pale Rider "He should have armed himself". Its not my responsibility to protect them.

I agree with the post that specifically mentioned "stereotype". However, thx for the thread and I wouldn't know more than that because when I quit tobacco in 2001 I decided to make a ton of cash overtime rather than spend it daily on a soda here, coffee there, etc. One must choose what he wants to 'pay the price' for...there is no wrong answer...i just waste my cash on other stuff that's all

Then ignore it and move on that simple....

StainlessSteel215 you couldn't be wrong on how I feel about what it means to be a CWP holder and carrier.......but I guess that's my fault for starting this post which I do regret because the computer screen just cant convey ones true tone and feelings.....for that I am regretful.

I realize that Starbucks as a company has resisted pressure to not allow CC or OC in there stores and I was not dogging them as a company in fact its one of the reasons I spend my money there.

Rumor mongering, members attacking each other, and left/right politics.

I think we're done here.
