Savage 112-V

Hi I recently purchased a heavy barrel rifle and the seller said it originally started life as 243, it was listed as a Savage 112-V. The action has only a serial #B890xxx, I was also given the original barrel, it is marked Savage Model 112 Series J 243 WIN. My question, mine has the long action, did they only make the 112-V in the long action?

As I understand it, a three digit Savage model number indicates a long action.
The same thing you have in a short action would be a model 12V.
At least my model 12 BVSS is a short action.

Jim is correct. So the Model 110 is the long action, a Model 10 is a short action, Model 112 is a long action, Model 12 is a short action, and so on.
