Hornady seating die

I have a question for users of Hornady dies. The seater specificly. Since their seat dies are diameter and not cartridge specific, I use the die that came with 25-06 set to seat 250 Savage bullets.

Problem: the seating stem seems to stick to the 87 gr Sierras and subsequently pulls the bullet alignment sleeve past the retaining ring and out the bottom of the die. The obvious fix is to relieve and polish the seating stem. The hook on the retaining ring barely protrudes in to the die body, so that may be the key.

I have a email in to Hornady. Too soon for a reply.
Have any of you fellows had this problem? Earth shaking I know.
