Recipe for 140gr .40 cal Cast Lead Conical FP?
I ordered 1K of C & C Casting 140gr Cast Lead Conical Flat Point bullets in .40 cal as a reloading experiment. I'm not quite sure what I'm expecting to get out of them, though, perhaps something closer to a 9mm in recoil. I'll be shooting them with both a FS and Compact S&W M&P .40.
Has anyone done anything with these, or similar bullets? I can't find anything on-line for recommended powder charge (I do have the Lee and Speer reloading manuals, but they're under the Christmas tree and unavailable for a bit more than a week). Jim Stinar of C & C recommends 5gr of WST, but I have 4 powders on hand; Accurate #2, Bullseye, WST and Clays and am simply wondering what the possibilities are. Be gentle. I've never reloaded for handguns before, and it's been 35 years since I've reloaded for anything else |

If you can find 150 gr lead loads, you can safely load the 140's up to max 150 limits.
