I have always found Optics Planet (www.opticsplanet.com) to have some great prices on scopes.

The only time I had to deal with the customer service was when a scope was delivered that had been damaged in shipment and they swapped it for a new one, with free shipping with no hassle.

Guntalk recently had an interview with the folks from there.
I think they said that they just increased their warehouse to 300,000 sq ft, and now have over a million items there.
Kind of hard to think of going anywhere else.

Natchez has good deals from time to time. I'd look there too.

I've ordered six Leupold scopes through Bear Basin Outfitters and have nothing but good things to say about them and their service. They used to be the cheapest but now their prices are the same as Optics Planet. The nice thing with them is you often get free perks depending on the model of scope you buy. For the VX-3L over $799, you can get either a Leupold boresighter or Leupold flip-up covers free. Give them a shot as you'll be very happy!

don't flame me

I'm buying used Leupolds on ebay. They come in OK, they go on the rifle.

Problems, they go back to Leupold, who fixes them for free. No probs yet, and I've done it 5-6 times.

In order for a vendor to carry Leupold scopes they sign an agreement to sell at MSRP. You won't find any difference on prices anywhere on a current production Leupold. I've seen discontinued models discounted.

The only differences are that some vendors offer free or reduced shipping. Some places like Cabelas etc offer discount coupons that can be used on anything they sell.

I have a Cabelas Credit card and used some points I had accumulated along with a $75 off coupon I got in the mail to buy a $500 scope for just over $200. But the price was the same at Cabelas as anywhere else.

I have found the best scope pricing to be from Grafs.com. They honor C&R licenses, but even their non-dealer pricing is pretty good.

I just ordered a Leupold VX-3 4.5-14x40 with the Varmint Hunter reticle, and Optics Planet actually had the worst price. Pretty much everyone had the same price of $679. Most places were out of them, but Natchez had a couple. The next day I was at the Cabela's in Waco and they had it in stock for that same $679. Probably somebody on the forum is going to now tell me where they found it MUCH cheaper. Oh well...go ahead and hurt me. I can take it.

Soon as I get it, it goes on the new 260 Tikka T3. The scope coming off goes to grandson's 308. The old Vari-X 3 4.5-14 on the Sako 270 will then go to Leupold to have the Varmint Hunter reticle added for $109.

Optics planet or Manventure Outpost are my favorite online. They never do me as good as my Mom and Pops store about 30 minutes from me.

It's wherever the sales are.

There only time you get a real "deal", is usually on closeouts. Sometimes this time of year, they're closing out certain models and bringing on the new ones for next year.

+1 for cameralandny

Those folks have great prices, fabulous service, and FREE shipping on anything over $100 purchase which a leupold scope will easily qualify for.

Also, the Ebay , arms list, gunbroker, and other auction sites are also good for used leupold items.

I purchased a VX1 2 x 7 x 32 for my .22 a few years ago and it has been great.

Doesn't sell directly but BestAR15Scopes.com does a pretty good job comparing a handful of different scopes.
