P22 Barrel Swap

I bought a used Walther P22. It started out as a 5". But, was chopped to 3.4" with a special adapter replacing the barrel nut in order to fit a specific suppressor.

With the barrel nut/adapter removed, it is exactly like the OEM 3.4" barrel as far as I can tell.

My problem is, that I want to put a 5" barrel kit on it for the increased sight radius. But, I can't seem to get the barrel past the ejector when I slide it rearward per the instructions in the handbook.

Has anyone had any experience with this? What am I missing?

You should be able to just wiggle/lift/push it past the ejector:

If you need to remove the extractor, download the "Walther P22 Bible" for detailed instructions:
