OEM Uberti nipples?

Hey guys! I am wondering where I can purchase a set of Uberti made, factory OEM nipples for my Cimarron (Uberti made) 1851 Navy Colt.

Let's just say the first set I had which came on the gun worked really well with Remington #10 caps... but they were damaged by a gunsmithing accident. Not by me though!

I have since tried Slix Shot nipples, and believe it or not they actually don't work well for me. I do not notice any decrease in cap fragmentation, and for whatever reason it seems I get a light strike on one chamber every time, yes I am using Remington #10 caps like the Slix Shot people say and am making sure they are fully seated. I am just not pleased with these nipples and want a set of the old OEM ones, but cannot find a source.

Like I said, my Uberti factory nipples worked really nicely with #10 Remington caps, and I'd like to have a set of them again as I have quite a few of said caps in storage. I have also heard Ampco makes a good nipple but am unsure of what cap to use on them.

Thanks so much guys!

Tresso nipples (ampco alloy) work very well with Remington #10 caps (#11s also).

Send me your address & I'll send you some stock Ubertis.

Model12,
You can also easily shim up that one light strike (low sitting) nipple to get a fuller hit. However I'd sure take ol' Fingers up on that free offer. That's mighty generous of him.

Package mailed this afternoon. You'll need to clean the old anti seize off of them though. They've been siting in the cap tin for about 7 years.

Fingers is one helluva nice guy. Sent me a free Dance & Brothers Pietta brass squareback triggerguard postage paid to see if it would fit my new 2014 [CM} Pietta 1851 Navy .36. Alas, it did not fit well and had many gas holes in it. I sanded and polished it to my satisfaction, but there are problems with the fit to the rear grip frame at the bottom of the trigger guard (approx. 1/16" gap).

Still a couple of gas holes there that I did not want to tackle.

He told me to pay it forward, so I will. If anyone wants a free 1851 brass squareback triggerguard, I will send it to you, free of charge.

Sorry, Fingers, it did not work out for me.

Jim

It happens. Not all (very few?) replacement parts are drop in.

Hey, thanks for the opportunity to try it out! Still on the hunt for that brass squareback with Taylors or Pietta. VTI is a no go.

On the subject of pay it forward:

I know 1911's aren't BP, but if anyone out there has a need for new (some used) 1911 SARCO/GPC/Wolff parts, I have several that are collecting dust. PM me with a list of your needs and I'll let you know if I have it, and will send free of charge. I am done playing with my 2 1911's and have no need for the spares.

The very few LGS here in the boontoolies won't buy them and if one wants to sell them to SARCO/GPC, it costs more in postage to send them back than what they offer.
