Remington 870 Express Super Magnum, 12 Gauge, 3 ½ inch chambered 26 inch barrel sawed off to 18 inches and crowned by Vang Comp Systems in Chino Valley, AZ. A second alteration to the barrel is the Vang Comp Reduced Recoil System which consists of lengthening the forcing cone, back-boring the barrel, and adding compensating ports. Additional modifications to the shotgun include MMC Ghost Ring Sights, Sure Fire 618F Tactical Light, Vang Comp Big Head Safety, TacStar Side Saddle, and Wilson Combat 2 Round Magazine Extension. This shotgun is intended to be used as a patrol weapon for felony stops or perimeter use in some tactical situations.

many different faces
I own a mossberg 500, it was pretty cheap and i've gone through a couple different configurations before decided that the original is probably the best.

me and the kids 870's
well I finaly got it their not as pretty as some but they have each taken their share of venison.
TOP GUN: mine, refinished darker, hasting barrel with camo tape to hide that shiny blueing . MIDDLE GUN: my youngest boys new 870 with rifled barrel, he took his first deer with it last year [2004] BOTTOM GUN: my oldest boys, that wingmaster is so damn pretty and shiny we have to cover it in camo tape every deer season You can see what we prefer and their all 20 ga, taken deer from 5 yards out to 80 yards.

So the eight rounds of 00 buck are for removing the bodies off the pig sticker?
I like the idea of being able to present options to the BG. Would you like me to stab you repeatedly with eight inches of sharpened steel or would you like to check out through the express lane? I’ve said this before someplace else in these forums, “something has seriously gone wrong with your HD plan when you have to holler ‘fix bayonets’ at the family.”

Calvin62...that 870 in the middle looks like you have tru-glo sights on it?
Just installed these on my Express last week. How do they work?

K80Geof- your right the are tru-glo sights. they took a little getting use to my boy said but they show up good at low light and he took his first deer with them. that makes them excellent in my view.

My very recent purchase, today. An Armsco/Huglu SxS 36ga. In the pic it has a 12ga shell for comparison.
The two together are a Beretta 682 Supersport, part of my Kolar tube gun set and the Ruger Red Label 28ga Sporting.

Calvin 62....I thought so. I imagine your son's eyes are better than my half century plus abused orbs. The sights definitely show up better than the factory sights.
Congrats to him on the deer
