Border Patrol being stripped of weapons?
Maybe I'm reading too much into this, but the M4 is easy to repair or service, why are these agents being forced to pool their weapons? They are under equipped as it is.

KVOA appears to be the only news outlet running this story. There may be more to it, and they may have the wrong information.

It is on Fox News as well. Unfortunately they reported the Colt M4 is 'piston operated'...unless they're using something other than the standard model.

FOX News really Isn't known for solid fact checking either. We may have to wait for the real story.

Just curious, but WHO, in the so called mainstream media, IS "solid fact checking" these days?

translation: The rifle now rides with a Border parol agent on duty, as opposed to sitting in a supervisors trunk at home.

Some 2/3s of the stations' M4s have been deadlined (for a variety of reasons) and ordered returned to ICE for repair/replacement.
With extremely small exceptions, all BP long arms remain at the stations until they are checked out for a shift, then are returned after said shift. None are sitting in trunks at home. The stations are not allowed to do much of anything with the M4 for repairs. Gas rings, sights, and buffer springs can be replaced, but only by the station armorer. Anything requiring tools must be done by ICE. Think, "liability" and things make a little more sense, but not much more.
