Moving out of state CCW permit
Hi! I'm new to the forums here. I'm in my last year at UW-Madison, and will probably be moving to Virginia due to my job. Unfortunately in WI our governor has made sure it is illegal to concealed carry, so I've never had the opportunity to carry. With the move to Virginia I will be getting my permit as soon as possible. Can I apply for a Virginia permit before my address technically changes from WI to VA or would I have to wait until my address is changed?

I believe there is a requirement to be a resident for a period of time before you can claim yourself a Virginia Resident.
I'll see if I can find that info for you. I stand corrected. Click this link. |

You could go ahead and get a Virginia Non Resident permit
(I think) and then it will probably be easier or at least no harder to get a resident one.
Keep in mind that the permit in Virginia is only for concealed carry, open carry is legal with out a permit. |
