The lead off rifle was a M1903A3 from 1942 or later, not war1. I know, minor detail.

You need to start with a Springfield or Rock Island M1903, then a M1917, then the M1903A3, follow up with a M1 Garand, M1Carbine, maybe add a Johnson. Then it's the M14. The M16 isn't truly a battle rifle. I know, I'm obsessive about minor details.
