Steel Shot In Harrington & Richardson Model 088
It is one of those single shot break open guns, like NEF makes now. I'm guessing it was made in the mid-80's. It has a full choke.
I've asked this before, and searched the firing line and the internet, but can't find much information on this gun. |

I wouldn't shoot steel shot in a full choke. Even if the barrel is steel-proofed, a full choke would at the very least destroy the pattern with steel shot. I have not read any manufacturer that recommends steel shot through a full choke. Some say no tighter than Modified, some only recommend cyl/IC. Maybe someone else can shed more light.
I hope I'm not out of line posting something I found on another forum but it provides some more information, even though second or third-hand and related to current production H&R/NEF guns: Quote:

Thanks for the reply. I'm guessing the current production ones are not that different. Maybe I'll try patterning it.
