Eureka!!!

I went plinking in the desert this morning. I found about 50, .38 Special cases. They look like once fired factory ammo. Normally this is no big deal. But in this day and age, it is almost as good as finding gold.

Agreed totally!

I went to the range a month ago and came home with 112 .223 cases, 25 or so .308 cases, and about 75 7.62x39 brass cases.

I was pleased with my pickup that day.

re:bobotech

Strange times when finding a few pieces of brass leads to giddiness.

Agreed. Now, is someone found some small rifle primers in the desert, I'd be tempted to think it was like the Israelites and the quails.

The fellow next to me was shooting a Springfield Armory 1911A1 in .45acp.
Not only did he not want to keep his brass, he even made it easy for me to collect by getting his empties land on my table!

Brass Rats!

Imagine my joy when three weeks ago I found 2 boxes of spent .243 brass just begging me to take them home. Yes, Christmas can arrive in March!

The shooting lease I am on here used to be covered up in brass 3 years ago. Nowadays all that is there is .22 brass and steel AK hulls.

The private (outdoor) range I joined back in December has a rule that states that one is to police their brass up when they vacate a bay; well, I found that if I shoot in one of the pistol bays, I tend to find bunches of .40 or .45 brass just left by previous shooters... I've filed no complaints, of course, as my buddy and I just collect the gold up and divvy it up like pirates (maybe that's a bad word to use given recent events, LOL)! I'm getting to like this range more and more!

I have gotten into the habit of asking while waiting to use the pistol range and to my suprise most of the people shooting tell me that they just toss the brass. I always let them know i will take it and even police it up. A few of them have even saved there brass and give it to me when they see me there.
Now that is cool!

I have over 5,000 9mm cases waiting for me to buy a 9mm, all picked up at the range they had no home so I gave them one in my reloading room and cleaned them up too.

I probably have 1000 .40 S&W brass that was all free from the range. In addition 9mm & 45 acp in the hundreds. Don't find so much laying around anymore, but there is always a few pieces that I pick up every week at the range. Today that's just money in the bank.

Ahh yes, there is nothing like the glint of brass on a frosty morn when i pull into the range. It gets my heart beating when I see those cases laying there. I've taken to picking up almost everything I can find. Scrounged hundreds of 9mm in the past few weeks. Now I don't feel so bad if I can't find one of my own from my bottom feeders.

I invite some of my "newbie" gun owners from work. They ask what it will cost to go with me to the range. I tell them they are my guest.........but I would like any brass they don't intend on reloading.

Happy hunting from another brass monkey .

You may be a brass hound if--you collect brass for guns you don't even own (yet.)
