PMC Primers

Hello,
I'm just starting out and today I was at the local shop and picked up a box of 1000 small rifle primers for my AR. (was on sale for $18) When I got home I noticed that they are small rifle magnum primers. I have been searching the net all night and from what I read it will be ok to put in to .223\5.56 rounds for my AR, is this true or should I return them and get the small rifle primers ( I know everything you read on the net is true), but I dont want to have a big issue the first go round. thanks in advance for the input.
