I've got an oil finished stock with some light scratches that appear to be in the finish and not all the way down to the wood. Any suggestions as to how I might repair them without sanding the old finish down? Thanks..

Badger, if they aren't down to the wood you should be able to touch them up just by using the original oil. If it's Linseed oil don't use Tru-oil for example. Use whatever was used on it originally. George

If the scratches are really light, you may be able to hide them with a good application of wax (Johnson's paste wax or other good floor wax).
