Where to buy disposable ammo trays

So, prior to deciding to start reloading, I of course bought lots of factory ammo. Other than WWB, all the ammo I bought came neatly laid out in disposable trays of varying types. Does anyone know if/where I can find these trays?

I am not looking for actual ammo cases to store ammo in. I'm looking to get a bunch of these trays, because I've discovered that my kids find it very fun to sort through brass and fill these trays up. So, I'll happily use their "slave labor" to sort my brass. Additionally, they work really well for spotting any .380s mixed in with the 9mm.

So, does anyone know of a supplier for these trays, by chance?

The Midway trays were my first thought, too, but I checked and although they sell the trays separately, you have buy something like 400-700 of them at a time, depending on caliber.

Buy a trash can for your range?

I probably have around 150 assorted trays from dumpster diving in cans at ranges.

Alternate source is your local law enforcement. They must qualify periodically, and normally either toss or burn the empties.

Oddly, the lack of trash cans is deliberate. There is a take-your-own-trash-with-you policy, as well as voluntarily taking trash that is generated from the club house, because there is no trash service at the range.

Of course, I bet I could go add "please leave ammo trays here" bins at the ranges and collect them that way.

Go to a public range - you will find all you need from one trashcan visit.

I can't imagine paying for something you can get free. You can find gobs of these at almost any range, free for the taking. If one range doesn't allow it, there are plenty of others that do. Worst case, beg the people in the other lanes for their empty boxes.

The way I figure it, driving my closest public range will probably cost me $10 in gas.

And even then, it's only a gamble. If I could order 100 of these trays for $0.40 each or something, I'd happily do so.

^^^ plus one on the above. I have bought some of the paper boxes with styrofoam inserts for storing reloads on shelves at home and also some of the plastic cases with snap lids for transporting what I want to shoot that day. The paper boxes are really economical. For a dozen dollars you can store 1250 rounds in a case of the paper boxes.

I found 20 different public shooting ranges in NC listed.

You you can try some of the pistol ranges, they should be very happy that someone is willing to cart away some of their trash, as those poly and plastic trays will be thrown out any way.

The public ranges in my state have bizarro rules, making them not fun. The main one being a three rounds loaded maximum... Most of the time I spend at the range is IDPA practice, so I don't really go to the public ranges.
