I have shot the Taurus ultra lights and I can tell you they are kind of "zippy".

Sweet revolver but heavy for CCW, imo. I carry a S&W model 37 or my P238.

Recently purchased a Rossi 461 made by Taurus, surprised me how well it shot but once it got hot the double action got sticky. This may loosen up but I never experienced that with a Ruger. That model is also about as heavy as the SP101.

jimmy badgers are popular for sp101s. very attractive, conceal well but a bit pricey i think plus they rake out the grip angle some. Bought some for mine. Hogues monogrip is also very popular for shooting, but may snag clothing in ways wood wont. give and take as mentioned before.

Why not just get a S&W 642? they run $320-$375 depending on location.
I did a test at a gun show, I went to the Taurus tables, and felt the lock ups vs S&W. I handled over 20 Taurus revolvers, lock-ups varried in tightness, mainly loose. S&W was almost always solid, I think there was one that was a little looser than the others.

Compared the Judge to S&W Gov, wow, soo much slop it feels like it would miss the chamber and blow up, personal experience and you can go compare them two next time you are at a show/shop and see.

I can only recommend a Taurus model 94, thats what I own and know about.

I've got the 85UL. You'll be much happier with the SP101.

Congrats on the new Ruger. As a current SP owner, and a former M85 owner, the two guns aren't even close to being in the same class.
