Just bought a Benchmade Rukus
I had read all about this award winning drop point folder but had not had one in my hand before. Well, with the magic of the internet and an open credit card I had one on its way.
I had read all the stuff but was not at all prepared for how truly large this knife is. In fact I was a little overwhelmed thinking it was too big. But after about a week this knife has truly won me over. It took a few days to master the one hand flick open tecnique. As that big blade gains momentum, you better have a good grip as it slaps positivly into the locking mechanism. It is heavy in your hand but rides nice and low in your pocket. I bought the satin finish with the combo edge. The trouble with combo edge folders is there is too little of either edge, but this big blade has plenty of room for a good plain edge(about 3") and still room for about 1 1/4" of serrated edge.Perfect for field dressing and any heavy duty hunting or camping situation. I paid about $170.00 and am very satisfied. http://www.benchmade.com/rukus.aspx |

I'm dieing to get my hands on one of these knives but the price tag is killing me. I think it's one of the best looking benchmade knives.
We'll see. They sometimes have them cheaper on ebay. |

Sort of an old thread, but I'm logged in.....
The Rukus is pretty popular over at bladeforums. I got one a while ago and was pleased to find out that it's 146/1000 first production run. I keep it paired up w/ my S&W .460 Mag. A couple big toys to keep each other company. I'm looking forward to picking up a Mini-Rukus. They're out now, but scarce. |
