Has anyone noticed the price of presses lately?

I was looking at the Lee website. Seems to me that the prices for presses has gone up..
Just me, or has anyone else noticed other brands too???

Supply & demand. For a while the presses were hard to find in stores like ammo. Ammo is coming back, but not at the pre-sandy hook prices.

its the KIND of press that determiens the cost.

Let me explain, some companies are selling the pre-quick change bushing presses from lee for very decent prices.
Cabelas still has the lee handpress kit, pre bushing, for 40 dollars. the bushing version without kit is 45 dollars. the pre bushing precision single stage is still just 30 dollars but no kit.

Yet i can still get the lee handpress pre bushing from 30-45 dollars depending on website.

Most Dillon prices haven't changed.
RL550B is the same price now as it was when I purchased it in March of this year.

I bought a Redding Big Boss II this past September, got it from Midway with my birthday discount, think it was $160 or $170. Love it and I view the price as secondary to the enjoyment I get from a fine tool.

Manufacturer's websites are not guides for what the street price might be.

If retail prices don't go up, then how do folks getting pay raises get that covered by the company's revenue?

A good way to protest retail price hikes is to give back all the pay raises you've ever got.

Let's keep the number of off topic posts dealing only with monetary policy to zero, and the number of reloading press posts at 100%.

I haven't shopped presses in a while and don't remember the prices when I was looking. I got my press and powder measure for free from my dad who had upgraded some years back.its just a single stage RCBS and RCBS powder drop with stand but it works for the low volume of reloading that I currently do. When I get to a point where I'm able to shoot more and therefore need to reload at higher volumes then I'll start looking. By then who know where the "norm" will be for progressive or turret presses.

No thanks, my first pay check was $0.95/hour. But then gasoline was $0.25/gallon, my rent was $50/month for a three bed room house, my electric bill was less than $5/month, and the water bill was around $2/month. I was in hog heaven when I got a $0.05/hour raise. Hmmm...

It would be illegal, if suggesting that such is more than coincidence or informal. Do not say, for example, that a Dillon dealer is not allowed to charge less than Dillon direct.

Find a retailer that has a price lower than what you find on Dillon's web site. Dillon will drop retailers that reduce prices below the price Dillon charges for direct sales. While the retailers can put a press on your porch cheaper than you would pay by buying directly from Dillon, they do it with the shipping. Some will ship free, but the price matches Dillon's direct sales price.

Dillon can only do that legally if they qualify for Fair Trade pricing practice. I was already under the impression that there was only one price for their stuff.

Dillon increases prices every January 1. See their catalog to confirm. Not EVERYTHING is increased. Some things slide. For example the Eliminator Scale was $59.95 for a couple years. Then on Jan1, 2013 the price increased to $69.95.
