power pistol for .45 colt?
Does anyone have info for using power pistol in the .45 Colt? I cant seem to find any info. the gun is a ruger blackhawk

I asked a similar question in this thread: http://thefiringline.com/forums/show...threadid=72819 Alliant does not provide data for this caliber/powder combination and I thought it odd since Power Pistol works great in 45 Super. |

I am thinking you could use about the same load as Unique. Starting load should be the same charge weight as the Unique low power load for Colt SAA's. Since it is a Blackhawk you will be shooting it in, there should be no pressure worries. I would go up in .5 grain increments until you find the load you like.
FYI, one of the long-standing loads for .45 Colt is 8.0 grains of Unique behind a 255 grain Lead bullet. Careful... YMMV,
