Pietta Colt prices 1851, 1860

I'm wanting a Colt style with a steel frame. I have two 1851 but both are brass framed.
Cabela's (who gets all my money now!) has an 1860 Army .44 on sale for $219 down from $269 and then there's the 1851 on sale for $279 down from $299.
What's the cause of the big price difference between the 1860 and 1851? Is it the round barrel vs the octal barrel? I'd be happy with either one but might go for the 1851 if the cyl from my brass 1851 would work in the steel framed. I like having extra cylinders when loading using my stand...

They were both on sale for 179 a couple of months ago. I guess the 51 is a hot seller right now.

Just depends on what they have extra stock on is all they need to clear out and when what shipment of what comes in. $219 on the .44 I would be jumping on that as you will probalby never see that again soon. Hawg may have a point too as the navy may be on back order and not in stock and they do tend to do that on not in stock guns. 3 months from now when they are out of the army .44s and get a full shipment of navys the price will flip flop.

Dang...I missed the $179 price sale...dang... Ok..I think I will watch the prices for awhile and see what happens...I do like the 51 over the 60 just for the barrel style if nothing else. But I am going to get a steel frame this time round. Cablea's...where Santa lives this year... LOL!!! Merry Christmas Ya'll

Big...

I think that is a good plan.

Cabela's runs sales frequently and unpredictably. If you can afford to wait, I think I would.

Don't forget to check out their Bargain Barn; I've seen some nice deals in there on B/p revolvers with only damaged packaging or a return that has been inspected and verified fully functional.

The Army and the .36 Navy are both on backorder. The so called .44 Navy steel frame is in stock for 279.

Bigminnow, were you wanting an 1851 in .36 or .44? I know the .44 is on sale for $279 but the .36 is on sale for $219 just like the 1860. Both are steel framed.

Wait---I have new in box uberti 185136c Navy in store. It is basically the same look and feel as the 2nd and 3rd colts. "289.00" It retails thru most for 310 the last time I checked Taylor. Some offered it cheaper so check out Dixie. If they are out of stock, this is available at this posting
