Lyman reloading press HELP!
Just received an "All American " and would anyone know of a bushing that will allow the powder drop space to be used as a 7/8x14 die?
The press is bare bones with no auto primer set up, but does have the bullet shell holder adapter and primer seating plunger I am told that it is a discontinued item and parts will be hard to locate. Would anyone have one that they would part with ? Has someone made one and would help with the needed dimensions? Thank you for any and all help with this matter! Dennis |

A friend of mine has that press. He got a shell holder adapter for it to hold any shell holder from Midway or Lyman I think. I'll have to ask him.
Your better off without that priming system. Very slow. At least his is. It sucks pretty bad, so use a hand primer. I dont know about a powder measure piece tho since he has the Lyman powder measure that fit right on. He's been trying to make a good primer catcher for it since the spent primers just tend to fly everywhere. I think he cut a big bowl or something to fit around the base. Called lyman
Spoke to Lyman to day and the customer service agent assured me that the 7/8x14 bushing is used to thread in a powder drop that is current revision, thus taking the standard die location and adapting the smaller powder drop to fit said hole. She was not aware of any bushing that fit that larger hole in my 4 hole press in her inventory.
She also let me know that I was in error, the larger hole was for a shotgun die not a powder drop. ( nice to know ) She also let me know that she checked with the oldest member of the staff, and I was given a number of a guy he thought would be able to assist ( I'm thinking here we go. ) Longer story very short Mr.Seager had one left, fits like a charm. Again thanks for the lead guy's, and Lyman was very helpful !! Dennis |
