S&W model 19-1
Picked up a sweet Model 19-1 Combat Magnum. I believe it to be LNIB.
Does not seem to have been fired. Any idea on value. In box with original tool kit in plastic. Serial #465xxx |

No prefix such as K??? Engineering change one was in 1959, engineering change 2 was in 1962, Are you getting the serial number from the butt of the gun, there should be a K prefix. If there is a K prefix the number is correct for 1961.

What is the finish, barrel length, and type of front sight?
Does it have oversize Target stocks that cover up the butt and frontstrap? What type of box is it; 2-piece cardboard or a presentation case? If cardboard, is it original to the gun? If so, there should be a white box end label with the gun's model number, barrel length, and serial number written on it in pencil, and the gun's serial number may also be scrawled elsewhere on the box in grease pencil. IIRC the box should be dark blue for a gun with blued finish, or light grey to silver for a gun with nickel finish.
