Out here some stores put a limit on how much and some don't. Just so happens the one we shop at does not...I wonder if it is up to the store manager if there is a limit put on things.

Walmart in Grand Junction HAD a decent supply of 9mm and .40 today...that is, until I arrived. They did enforce a max of 5, 50 round boxes, but had some friends with me who don't shoot that much, and they were happy to purhcase some for the cause. ('Cause I need to practice more)

Our Wal-Mart is still pretty dry for a lot of stuff. They had a fair variety of centerfire rifle ammo, but not much quantity. They STILL don't have almost ANY .22 in stock. They had a couple boxes of shorts, Subsonics, and Remington Golden Bullet 50 packs. They had no bulk packs, and no CCI, and haven't had any of either in MONTHS. I never thought it possible, but my stock of .22 is getting low.
They did have several boxes of .40 when I was in, but little else in the way of handguns (NO 9mm, no .45), and a guy bought the entire stock of .40 while I was in there (they did have a limit at one time, but maybe it's been lifted?). I think he bought 8 boxes at once. There were plenty of slugs for SG, but almost no buckshot (which they also haven't had for months). They were even out of my usual Federal 12ga. target loads. Not good.

Walmart - ammo and employees
Yesterday I drove 40 mi. to a neighboring Walmart because the clerk said that they had .22LR's in stock. When I got there, I discovered that there was a limit of six items purchased per day. If I lived in that town, no problem...With respect to the employee, it doesn't take a genius to tell the difference between a friendly attitude and a snot. I'll pay a little more and stay local from now on.

Picked up a few more boxes of wwb 38's today. The shelfs had a really good selection.
Dicks and Cabelas seem to have much better stock, as well. This is good. |

I've already posted on here a few times and every time I do, I always talk about how all we have at the Walmart here in town is 4 boxes of .357 Sig -
Well, guess what? That is seriously all we have - Still. It's pretty crazy isn't it. I guess the people in Hardin County are still trying to buy everything they can get their hands on. Oh, and they must hate .357 Sig! That's all the more reason to buy that Glock 33 I've been wanting. |

Walked up to the sports counter today and realized that they have less now than a few months ago. Throughout this time this Wal-Mart has kept a supply of rifle ammo mostly Winchester brand but within the past couple of weeks that has began to disappear too. I had a glimmer of hope about a month or so ago when I started to see the occasional box of 9mm on the shelf, now I walk up to a nearly completely empty shelf. I am guessing it is being affected by the upcoming hunting seasons and with an already stressed supply the little reserve around here is being finished off. It maybe we will have to wait until the first of next year (after the hunting rush) to see any relief from this shortage.

My Walmart in Vegas by my house has had one box of WWB 44mags sitting there for about 3 weeks. I guess the 44mags are popular here. They did have a box of Rem 44mags but those were gone right away. To bad they were closed or I would have bought them because those Rem's Rock 180g at 1800fps claimed at 1000ft/lbs.
Ohhh, and they have about a 100+ box's of Federal .223s sitting there for about 2 months now. |

My local Walmart is moving. Their new store doesn't open till mid November. The old store will NOT have any ammo in stock till they move. So I ordered online from another company, ammo will be here Monday.

I declare the ammo shortage (at wm) over. I went to one wallyworld this morning and they had bunches of 100 pack 223, and several boxes of 9mm. Then this evening I went to another WM (sick kid is the reason) they had what looked like 15 boxes of 9, loads of 40, and even some 45. Finding 45 here has been harder than 9mm....I picked up 300 more rounds of 9 and 223. Good day.....

Clearwater FL Wal-Mart has loads of .22LR as of yesterday. I didn't buy any though since they had a well meaning but unknowledgable clerk there who kept giving me the projectile weight (36gr) instead of the number of rounds in the box. There was a huge line, so instead of tying up everyone's time, I just went to the sporting goods shop up the street and ate their markup. I'll go back to Wal-Mart when I get done with this 550rd carton

I've got plenty of target ammo & don't go looking, unless I happen to be in Walmart, Dicks, etc. Today was one of those days in Walmart & the cupboards were bare; no 22lr, 38sp, 9mm. Plenty of shotgun ammo.
We've got a long way to go. |
