Nedd Info S&W Special CTG

Hello All,
we just came across an older pistol in my father in laws closet & would like some help identifying its prod. year & fair market value.
It is Nickel & has a 4 " barrell.....fixed sites.
Barrel says 38 S.&W. SPECIAL CTG. Serial # is on butt of handle
2D76524 ......
I opened the cylinder & it says MOD. 10-5
it also says 32829 or 32S29 & B10

He was in the Air Force during Korea.....if that helps.

Thanks for any help

Can't help with the value, but this revolver should have been made in 1962.

Your father-in-law has a Smith & Wesson Model 10 (also called the Military and Police model) in 38 Special. The fact that it is nickeled means it is not a military weapon, so he got it from a civilian source. Value is about $300.
