The previous thread on Danner boots got me thinking.
Some of us are blessed with "casual" dress codes at work instead of business attire. Anyone who has worn a suit can tell you that dress shoes are slippery as all @#$! and don't provide much traction or water resistance. We are "business casual" five days a week, but the casual shoes don't do much for either category either. So that got me thinking. Police have to dress in their uniforms but they also need decent traction and water resistance in their footwear. Somewhere, there's gotta be a shoe manufacturer who makes a "casual" oxford type shoe that has a decent sole and waterproof material. The closest I found was this: http://www.galls.com/shop/viewProduc...jsp?item=SP052 This is an oxford by Rocky with CrossTech waterproofing material and a semi-aggressive sole. However, the styling probably wouldn't do for business casual wear. Any other alternatives (i.e., an oxford type all-leather shoe with Gore-Tex or similar waterproofing and traction-friendly sole)? Thanks, Justin |

Also, opinions on the Danner 49100 GTX Edgewood (http://www.danner.com) would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
