Staff,
After the last server change I experienced a minor problem when posting. I am seeing it again. The last time I saw it, it ceased after a day or two. But here it is: I get a text screen flash when I click on the "SUBMIT" button to post. Then the server takes me back to the thread it is supposed to. I did a real quick "ctrl A-ctrl C" thing and captured this: ******************** Links | Library | Forum Policies Firearms Safety | Firearms Photos Thanks for posting your message, sensop! We are now sending you back automatically to this topic. Please wait two seconds. Click here if you do not want to wait any longer (or if your browser does not automatically forward you). Server Error: "550 ... Relaying denied " Server Error: "503 Need RCPT (recipient) " Server Error: "500 Command unrecognized: "To: [email protected]" " ************* The last time this was happening, the "To: [email protected]" part of the message would change each time I saw it. In case I didn't make it clear, Posting is working, it just flashes this text screen, and then goes on to act normally. [This message has been edited by sensop (edited April 17, 2000).] |

Sensop,
Good act! BTW, I get some goofy stuff too; but the post gets posted so let's let it go for now. (I agree it's funky!) |

Last night I got a message while trying to get into the Handguns and Pistol Craft forum that "My attempt to hack this forum was logged. Any further attempts will be reported to the authorities." I wrote it off as a SNAFU and figured it would clear up (right after the staff busted their respective butts sorting things out) eventually. Of course now I'm wondering what kind of authorities police these things.
You know now that I think about it you may have something there 'bout those little green smilin' critters. You try to hack a forum and they send an entire army of the little devils to yer house and then........I shudder to think of the possiblities. ------------------ Gunslinger We live in a time in which attitudes and deeds once respected as courageous and honorable are now scorned as being antiquated and subversive. |

Yep some of us are getting the error flash also. The workaround is to close your eyes for 3 seconds immediately after you press the submit button. It'll go away on its own in time.

The problem is that the email function on the old sight was DOA....never did work right. You were submitting to a thread for which the author had requested email notification. Thus you were seeing an email error message.
It continues on this site since we're still using the old email server until I can get around to it tomorrow. Rich |
