Mine is at the FexEx shipping hub , for delivery monday. They won't hold it at the hub for me to pick up and SIGN for it. Because of the shipping requirements by springfield, they must make an attempt to deliver to the address. I was trying to avoid them maken 3 failed attempt to deliver before they do what, yes hold at the hub for me to come pick up and sign for. Thats just stupid. Maybe I will luck out and be home in time for the delivery. Guess i'll just wait and pick it up thrusday after they have made there attempts to deliver.

I really hope a lot of XDs owners get rid of their guns. If there's a bunch on the used market, it will be a buyers dream!

Came home early, just caught the FedEx guy, sittign down to some lunch and then off to the range to see how its shooting. I'll report back in a few hours. One happy camper rigth now.
Update, put about 30 rounds threw it, not issues, the trigger is a bit heavier than I remember, but its been 2 months so could just be due to that. Still a sweet little 45 that you couldn't pay me to part with. Still Happy Last edited by Forrest68; November 4, 2013 at 02:34 PM. |

Just got mine back today. It does have a heavier trigger but its has a much more positive reset. Feels more glock like than before, good thing to me.

I received mine back last week and put 100 rds through it over the weekend. It seems to function just as reliably as before, and the slightly heavier trigger doesn't bother me a bit. The reset seems a bit more positive, and the length of pull feels no different. I still love this pistol, time for the Ruger LC9 to go back in the safe.

Received mine yesterday and the trigger is a little heavier, as is the grip safety. Not a big deal for me. Dry firing with a snap cap is smoothing it out some.

My XDs arrived earlier today. The trigger is slightly heavier than before, but other than that, I'm happy. I have been dry firing it with a snap cap today, and Saturday will be taking it out and running 200 rounds of fmj and 40 rounds of my carry ammo through it.

True mine does have the heavier trigger. But I did not mind it at all.

My XDs45, which arrived home about 10 days ago, gained an extra 1 lb. 4 ounces of trigger pull weight. That being said, it is smoother than it previously was. I'm hoping that PRP or one of the other companies comes out with a quality trigger kit (not just some spring replacement package).

FYI, to all those that may be unaware, you can check the status of your XDs in the recall process by using the link below and entering your serial number. I have noticed this question pop up on a few of the forums.

Re: XDs Recall
Christmas took forever to come as a kid, but this year its taking even longer. Since they put out a date line of when one should receive their xds back, its dragging. Hope since I'm only six days past the Thanksgiving cut off I will get a notice, if change in status, by the first week of December.

Finally!!
I was a little slow in getting my XDS45 returned. SA got in on 9/11 and I received in Monday 12/2. It was clean and did include the extended mag. The trigger felt fine except that it was stiffer than I remember. I took it to the range yesterday and before I shot I measured the trigger pull at 8#. After putting about 50 rounds down range, it measured 7#. Still pretty stiff. If it doesn't improve to somewhere in the 5# range, I guess I'll have to get a minor trigger job. But all in all, I'm pretty happy with SA given that they had over 200,000 guns to deal with.

I took my newly returned, post recall XDs .45 to the range a couple of weeks ago. I shot 100 rounds of Speer Lawman 230gr fmj and 20 rounds of Barnes TacXPD 185 gr +P jhp (my carry round) through it.
It was 100% reliable and accurate. The trigger was heavier and had a lot of creep in it when it was returned. I dry fired it about 300 times with a snap cap before hitting the range, and the trigger smoothed up nicely. It definitely breaks more crisply than it did before the recall. I am very happy with the results and the XDs .45 is my EDC gun again. This was my first 6 groups shot at 7 yards with my post recall XDs .45. I circled the individual groupings in blue using MS Paint. |

I was really hoping to see a glut of these on the used market when all of the unhappy owners dumped them. So far, nothing.

But as they trickle out, I think most are very satisfied with the "upgrade" and have decided to hold on to them. I'm real pleased with mine. 45 firepower is such a compact pistol is really nice. |

Got mine!!
Most of you XDS lovers are blindly over-looking the fact that Springfield Armory cavalierly jacked us all around for months while they finally got their act together and started getting these quarter of a million handguns fixed.
Excuses like, "We're searching for and testing solutions to the problem", or "We've encountered a problem with our suppliers, so a solution will be delayed another couple of weeks", or "Weather has prevented us from completing..." are lame, at best! In addition, as you have all seen, SA figured they could placate us all by simply changing the date on their "update"! Come on, guys! That was one of the most pathetic excuses for an "update" ever issued from a major corporation. Listen to this... Even the Fed-Ex deliverer (a female, so she should have been even more able to find her way, right?) called last night (8:30 P.M.) and said she couldn't find my home and would I come and meet her? I swear, it's the truth!! Oh, for Christ's sake! After 200 rounds through it today, I found the thing to be O.K. Just O.K. Sure, I had no FTF's or FTE's, and it placed all 200 rounds in the same hole at 100 feet, but the trigger pull was a pound harder! Maybe I should just throw this thing in the trash. On second thought, I guess I'll put it back ITWB. Have a great year! |

They are such great little guns, that most people no matter how much they bitch and moan on the interwebz know this deep down, and so they are keeping them. I have been happy with mine ever since the upgrade. The trigger is definitely a little stiffer than I remember, but I have no trouble shooting it just as well.
