Blackpowder + conventional cartridges = smokey fun?

What say you, experienced reloaders? Anyone use BP in a conventional cartdrige? Namely .44mag or 357mag or even .45acp? I guess there really is no good reason for this question, but I was curious and figured I had better follow someone elses advise versus trying it myself.

I have loaded .45 colt, .45-70, .45-90, .38-40 and .30-30 with both black powder and BP substitutes. Fun? you bet! (until it comes time for cleanup! )

I have a question about this. I have some brass framed revolvers that they say I shouldn't use my R&D cartridge conversion cylinder in. But what if I loaded the .45 colt with the same amount of BP that I use in the cap and ball cylinder? Sounds like it would be fun to reload .45 (long) colt with BP.

That will probably create the pressure they are warning you about nonetheless.

That's a shame because I don't want my steel frame to get dirty (since I don't clean the sucker). Woulda been fun though.
