TC Hawken set trigger VERY hard to set
I've got three other BP rifles w/ set triggers, but this newly-acquired (but old)
TC Hawken is the hardest I've ever encountered in trying to set. Before I start grinding as shown above (and before I just replace it w/ an RE Davis Deerslayer), has anyone else encountered this? (And if so, was there a solution other than to relieve the flat spring?) |

Found the Problem: Improperly-relieved stock inletting above the leaf spring. (The wood left it with no place to go as it rose while being set.)
Fixed and working normally. postscript: As this was a "used gun," I cannot imagine how the original owner lived with it. |
