Wow, someone is keeping track LOL. I've been casting with Lee molds for muzzle loading for a couple years, loading for cartridges just recently.



Actually I've been casting for over 20 years if you count fishing sinkers LOL.

cchardwick, you do NOT want to get in the habit of tapping the mold blocks with ANYTHING. If you have to assist the bullets a bit, the best bet is to spend a few bucks and get a hickory hammer handle. Tap the hinge pin--where the handles are connected together--not the molds. When they get hot, they are very easy to deform and knock out of alignment.

And yes--aluminum is easy to use, but I recommend some of Midway's Mold Release spray. It's nothing more than a moly-based spray, but if prepped per instructions, the bullets will literally fall out of the mold.
